About Me

I'm Zakiya Dharsi, founder of Dharsi Wellness, a yoga teacher, and a corporate wellbeing coach. 

Before founding Dharsi Wellness, I was balancing a corporate job with the responsibilities of single motherhood. Like many, I reached a point where something had to change. My yoga and mindfulness journey began as a way to manage stress and find a more grounded rhythm in daily life, but it soon became much more than that.

Over the years, combining yoga, breathwork, and nervous system education helped me navigate the effects of complex PTSD, rebuild my inner resources, and reconnect with a deeper sense of self. This healing journey led me to share these tools with others in a way that is both compassionate and practical.

I’ve been teaching for several years with qualifications in Vinyasa, Yin, and Trauma-Informed Yoga, and I’m currently training in Yoga Therapy with The Minded Institute — deepening my understanding of how mind-body practices, neuroscience, and psychological tools can support long-term wellbeing. I also draw from lived experience and years of self-study in mindfulness, weaving it into my work in accessible and grounded ways.

Through Dharsi Wellness I’ve delivered wellbeing workshops and talks for organisations including Boots, Rituals, Bain Capital, Santander, and others. I also collaborate with individuals and initiatives such as Sha from The Wellness Movement, sharing science-backed tools to regulate stress, enhance resilience, and embed nervous system-informed wellbeing into everyday life and leadership.

My approach goes beyond movement. Whether guiding a corporate team, teaching a class, or speaking at a wellbeing event, my mission is to create space for people to reconnect with themselves, feel safe in their bodies, and build resilient minds and bodies for a successful, fulfilling life.
